International Partnership Initiative
CAN has been chosen by the Networks of Centres of Excellence
to receive funding for an International Partnership Initiative
(IPI) that will encourage the sharing of expertise and knowledge
amongst the best arthritis researchers world-wide. What
this means for you is the following:
- FUNDING to send
interested investigators and trainees to academic and/or
industry labs outside of Canada (either through pre-arranged
CAN partnerships or visits you arrange, pending approval)
- FUNDING to send interested consumers to special international
meetings and workshops to promote and explain the purpose
of CAN’s unique Consumer Advisory Council
- FUNDING to sponsor your attendance at international
conferences where you present CAN-funded research or discuss
CAN programs
- FUNDING to initiate
collaborative research opportunities (current partnerships
exist with the Arthritis Research Campaign (UK),
the Nuffield Foundation (UK), The
Arthritis Foundation (USA), the Japan
Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and
the AO Foundation (Switzerland)). Click
here
for more details.
We have 40 spaces to be filled within the next 18 months.
Lab visits and mini-sabbaticals for trainees, consumers
and Network Investigators would last up to three months.
Any trainee working in a Network Investigator’s
lab is eligible to apply.
This section will be updated regularly as new partnerships
are developed, new information becomes available and new
opportunities for lab visits and mini sabbaticals are identified.
If you have questions or are seeking more information about
this program, please contact Joanne Wright at 416-586-4800
ext. 4798 or jwright3@mtsinai.on.ca.
