Mission statement
The Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) will improve the quality of life of people with arthritis, decrease the personal, societal and economic burden of the disease and promote the growth of the Canadian economy through arthritis R&D in areas of unmet need. The focus will be on strategic research initiatives in osteoarthritis, inflammatory joint diseases and bioengineering for restoration of joint function, supported by strategic research resources. CAN is a catalyst that will achieve its vision through the strength of its partnerships with consumers, academics, clinicians, voluntary agencies, industry and government.
